What Plate Try On collects
You can use the site without creating an account. When you generate a preview, Plate Try On stores your vehicle and plate selections, personalized characters, generated images, and a random browser identifier so your recent designs remain available on that browser.
The site also stores hashed network and device identifiers to apply the rolling daily generation limit and reduce misuse. Hashing means the original network address is not stored in the generation record.
If you join the mailing list, Plate Try On stores the email address you provide and your subscribed or unsubscribed status.
Plate Try On also keeps aggregate product counts, such as successful or failed generations, selected vehicle and plate categories, generation time, limit messages, mailing-list signups, and Venmo link clicks. It also records page paths, referring website domains, aggregate Core Web Vitals—LCP, INP, and CLS—and whether a visit came from a mobile or desktop browser. A one-way hashed network identifier is used to estimate unique visits without storing the original network address. These analytics records do not contain personalized plate characters or email addresses.
How the information is used
- To create and return the two requested vehicle previews.
- To show recent generated designs on the same browser.
- To enforce free-use limits and protect the service.
- To send occasional project updates you requested.
- To diagnose failures and keep the site working.
- To understand which features are useful and how the site performs.
Plate Try On does not sell your personal information.
Services involved
Plate Try On uses OpenAI to generate images, Cloudflare-based hosting and storage to operate the site, and Resend to deliver mailing-list email. These services process the information needed to perform those jobs under their own privacy terms.
Cloudflare Web Analytics measures aggregate traffic, referrers, approximate geography, device and browser categories, and page performance without adding an advertising tracker or a Web Analytics cookie.
Retention and your choices
Saved designs remain associated with the browser profile until you delete them. Mailing-list information remains active until you use the removal link included in every mailing-list message. Limited records may be retained when needed for security, troubleshooting, or legal obligations.
You can delete generated designs from the recent-generations area. You can leave the mailing list at any time using the “Remove me from the mailing list” link in an email; the removal is applied immediately.
Important note
Plate Try On creates visual simulations. It does not verify plate availability, registration eligibility, vehicle configuration, or the final appearance of a government-issued plate.
